I really enjoyed reading this book while imagining the luxurious life of the passengers on Titanic before the accident occurred and the tragedy the passengers are facing as they try to survive when the Titanic hit the iceberg. I loved reading both Eve and Thomas' story and understanding the way they see things in the voyage and I loved how detailed Sue described the setting of the Titanic which makes me feel as if I'm on board of the ship itself. Written in 2 perspectives, Eve and Thomas, the book ventures on their journey on board the Titanic until the accident and tragedy where the Titanic hit the iceberg. Titanic is a beautiful sad story and a historical tragedy which is portrayed really well in Forget me not. This is a story of a family's voyage on the Titanic. Thomas Gilmore, Eve's brother takes this journey as an adventure and a beginning to a new life. But her family is moving to America and they are on board the greatest luxurious ship of the time, RMS Titanic. I can sense this historical feeling of the book just by seeing the cover! The shadow of the birds and the lifesaver gives a beautiful touch and calmness to the cover!Įvelyn Gilmore is never excited about leaving Britain, if it means leaving her friends and lovely home behind. ❝ A light read filled with positive messages.❞ Also I do hope Asumi and Takeshi break up. I hope they don't drag out the jealousy plot too long. Still waiting for that to be acknowledged.) She really has made a lot of growth as a person. I really liked the scene with Megumi and Rin in Paris and seeing how much Rin admires Megumi, while in turn, Megumi acknowledging that she is jealous and is projecting her insecurities on Rin. Yamato and Mei just need to talking clearly to each other and address their insecurities and how their dynamic is inevitably changing now that they have graduated and are working towards their respective careers.Īlso, I love that Aiko and her boyfriend are considered the most assured and stable relationship of the bunch. Honestly, I hope she dates that guy who is also trying to be a preschool teacher and plays piano. I always thought that Asumi could do better, so if they break up, I'm not gonna be sad. I have never like Takeshi and at best tolerated or ignored him. That struggle is real and it can be jarring how quickly things changes, so it was interesting watching the characters go through that. I really like that the series is showing how your relationship changes when you go for high school (where you see each other everyday and are always in the same space) to college and the real world (where its a lot harder and requires more effort to maintain your old relationships while starting to make new ones). I found the ending thought provoking, and came away with the understanding that I do not have to justify my life or actions to any one. The drama then involves the resolution of this crisis. He and his mother play only stereo-type roles, and yet they are proud of their lives. He challenges his father for his choice of career. But at Harvard, he found he was not as smart as the other students there. All his life his family and teachers have told him that he was smart. He has dropped out of Harvard, and accuses his family of lying to him. The drama starts when his son returns home angry and disillusioned. The protagonist, Buddy Villa, is proud of his life and likes to recount how he got his first film job as an extra in the famous film, ‘The Treasure of Sierra Madre’ where he was one of the non-speaking bandits. They have sent their second child, a son, to Harvard. They have sent their eldest daughter to medical school, and she is now a successful doctor. They are established bit players, and have built a comfortable middle-class life in the suburbs near Hollywood. The play concerns the lives of a Mexican-American acting couple. This play came to me at a point in my life when it was absolutely necessary. However, the play that moved me is called ‘I Don’t Have to Show You No Stinkin’ Badges’. The most recognized play in ‘Zoot Suit’, which was a successful motion picture. Interesting book of three plays by Mexican-American playwright Luis Valdez. According to the author, the world depends on coal, oil and gas for 80% of its energy today, much as it did 30 years ago when concern about climate change was just beginning. Such concerning numbers prepare the reader for Yergin’s contention that the transition from greenhouse gaseous fuels to alternatives like solar and wind power is not going to be quick or easy. Here’s a delicious morsel: Between 2011-2013, China poured more concrete than the United States did in the entire 20th century. This book is worth reading for its marvelous statistics alone. By the final page, the reader will feel like an energy expert herself. In his latest book, Yergin provides an engaging survey course on the lifeblood of modern civilization – where the world has been and where it is likely headed. And when Harry finally convinces the boy – Iain mac Maíl Coluim – to cut his filthy curtain of hair, the face revealed is the most beautiful thing Harry has ever seen. Then Harry begins to notice things: that, as well as Gaelic, the boy speaks flawless French, with an accent much different from Harry's Norman one. The Scottish boy is surly and violent and eats anything that isn't nailed down. Montagu gives the boy to Harry as his squire, with only two rules: don't let him escape, and convert him to the English cause.Īt first, it's hopeless. They ride north, to a crumbling Scottish keep, capturing a feral, half-starved boy within and putting the other inhabitants to the sword.īut nobody knows why the flower of English knighthood snuck over the border to capture a savage, dirty teenage boy.
